Puppy Love
I’ve only had a dog once in my life and her name was Autumn, who was given to me by a friend when we were both going through a divorce. Autumn was a great comfort then, and since I was no longer traveling all of the time, I thought it might be an opportunity to give it another try. After all, a dog is supposed to love me no matter what, and I figured I could use some of that about now.
A Little Dimmer Today
The morning sunrise is a little bit dimmer today.
Beverly, an older wise woman, has been a dear friend and guide for me over the past twenty years. Whenever I am down, or when the earth feels shaky under my feet, or if I am confused about the next decision in my life, I have reached out to her. Just the sound of her voice would center me again.
I tried calling her a few weeks ago and didn’t hear back.
To Mask or Not to Mask
No one wants to wear a mask.
We choose to secure the swath of cloth to protect ourselves and others.
Public Health should not be up for political debate.
I believe it is time we CHANGE the conversation!
So, What Are We Not Seeing?
Throughout life, some of my best memories were the times I spent hanging out under the stars. Sweet memories of childhood sleepovers in my parent’s backyard, big sky evening vistas in Montana, and wilderness white water rafting adventures with friends camping along the western rivers of our country. The magic of the night sky fueled my curiosity and imagination.

Have you ever listened to a song, and then all of a sudden, a lyric just reaches out, captures your heart, and you find yourself playing it over and over again? That was what it was like for me the first time I heard “More Love” (Karleigh’s Song) by Billy Jonas. I had been working on the concept for Let’s Choose Love when I came to the line “Did you put more love in the world today, more love on your way to the setting sun, there is only one measure when you can honestly say, I put more love ..” I knew that I had found the core question, for each of us who decide to Choose Love, must ask ourselves at the end of the day. Did I put more love in the world?
Hey White People … I Am Talking to US

Driving around Asheville and listening to the stories of the murder of George Floyd, and the protests that are springing up around the country, my heart aches. I am sorry to say that the escalation of violence against blacks was not unexpected, and the ensuing protests and riots understandable.
Ground Zero Choice Point
When the towers came down, like everyone, I wept and grieved, but for me, it felt so personal. The attack happened in my own hometown. As I watched the story unfold, something emerged inside of me, it was like a steel rod had formed along my spine, and NYC was a magnet that pulled me forward. I couldn’t … not … go.
